Key Responsibilities:

Thesis-to-Book Conversion:

Assist researchers in transforming their dissertations or theses into publishable academic books. This involves restructuring, enhancing, and editing content to meet industry standards.

Content Development & Enhancement:

Work with clients to refine their research, ensuring clarity, coherence, and academic rigor. Help enhance the overall quality of writing while ensuring that the essence of the research is maintained.

Publishing Standards:

Ensure that all content aligns with publishing standards, including proper formatting, citation styles (APA, MLA, Chicago, etc.), and adherence to copyright laws.

Collaboration & Consultation:

Collaborate closely with clients to understand their research goals and tailor the transformation process to their specific needs. Provide ongoing feedback and support throughout the editing process.

Academic Writing & Editing:

Edit and proofread manuscripts to ensure high-quality, error-free content that is suitable for academic publication. Focus on improving readability, structure, and flow while maintaining scholarly tone and accuracy.

Market Research & Trend Awareness:

Stay updated with the latest trends in academic publishing, including market demands, emerging topics, and best practices for academic book publishing.

Timely Delivery:

Manage multiple client projects effectively, ensuring deadlines are met without compromising quality.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Educational Background:
   • PhD in a relevant academic field (preferred) or a Master’s degree in a related discipline with strong academic experience.
   • Expertise in academic writing and research, with a deep understanding of academic structures, methodologies, and citation practices.
2. Experience:
   • Proven experience in academic publishing, book editing, or thesis-to-book conversion.
   • Previous work in academic journals, research consultancy, or publishing houses is highly desirable.
   • Experience working with authors on refining manuscripts for publishing is an advantage.
3. Skills:
   • Exceptional command of written English, with advanced editing, proofreading, and grammatical skills.
   • Strong academic writing skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas in clear, readable language.
   • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
   • Proficiency with academic tools like plagiarism checkers, referencing software (EndNote, Zotero, etc.), and MS Word/Google Docs.
   • A deep understanding of academic research, citation styles, and the publishing process.
4. Personal Attributes:
   • Detail-oriented and able to identify inconsistencies in academic writing.
   • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines without compromising quality.
   • Passionate about contributing to the academic community and supporting researchers in publishing their work.

This is a project-based consultancy role with compensation mutually agreed upon based on:
